Course Overview
Presented by R A Medical for BADN.
Aim
Nitrous oxide inhalation sedation is an extremely useful, safe, and patient-centric procedure. However, its safety relies entirely on the competence of the operator. Years ago, I authored a Dental Nursing Guide focusing on the training requirements for inhalation sedation.
Learning objectives:
- Understanding the vital importance of dedicated training.
- Recognizing different types of sedation equipment.
- Identifying active scavenging systems in the surgery.
- Executing correct cleaning regimes to prevent equipment damage.
- Evaluating textbook content and seeking verified expert advice.
- While new equipment has since entered the marketplace, these core learning outcomes remain highly pertinent today.
